***Under the general direction of the Director of Student Services and Registrar, and in collaboration with other members of the office, provides academic advising, manages the Academic Progress/Success portfolio and offers student services to students of St. Michael's College; performs other duties as required by the Director of Student Services and Registrar.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years working in a related capacity (University of Toronto experience preferred).
  • Ability to work well in a crosscultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Demonstrated initiative in areas of Student Services and academic advising, in particular as related to international students.
  • Essential qualities: conscientious; diplomatic; good listener; reliable; strong attention to detail; service oriented with a friendly manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of University systems such as ROSI/ACORN, ROSI Express, Degree Explorer, Timetable Builder and related features is a definite asset.
  • Ability to create and edit documents in but not restricted to Microsoft Suite, Sharepoint and the newly implemented SAS.

EDUCATION

  • University degree and 35 years related experience within a postsecondary environment, preferably within Student Services and advising.
