What you will do:

Under the direction of the Associate Dean Pathways, the Manager, Pathways Programs, is responsible for the planning, organizing, and administration of the day-to-day operations and services offered in the Academic Upgrading (AU) and Dual Credit/School Within a College (SCWI) programs


This includes:

  • The Academic Upgrading Program, Academic Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate and AU Certificate of Completion, the apprenticeship math support workshops, all dual credit programs including School Within a College (SWAC), the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and special projects with internal and external partners.
  • The incumbent manages the AU and Dual Credit budget and supports the budget development process.
  • The incumbent also oversees the enrolment, recruitment and marketing of the AU programs and services in compliance with Ministry of Labour, Training & Skills Development procedures, targets and reporting requirements


Students served by pathways programs are typically college capable but face multiple barriers to access and inclusion in post-secondary spaces.

A positive student experience is, therefore, key to their success.

Drawing on principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB), the Manager ensures that the learning environment is one where students are welcomed, nurtured, and encouraged to succeed.

The incumbent supports the Associate Dean in the development of faculty assignments, and in the recruitment and management of contract faculty and staff.

Lastly, the incumbent acts as the liaison with other Humber Faculties and departments, other colleges' AU and Dual Credit programs, and community LBS agencies.

The Manager, Pathways Programs, establishes and maintains strong community partnerships by working collaboratively with Humber's Employment Centres, Community Outreach and Workforce Development (COWD), the SCWI Regional Planning Team and other internal and external partners.


What you bring to the role:

Education

Experience
years of professional working experience.

  • Knowledge of provincial literacy programs, adult education, assessments, and curriculum development ensure program quality and standards. Knowledge of postsecondary program admission policies ensures that AU courses provide a seamless transition from AU to postsecondary. Postsecondary teaching experience provides a background to support faculty within the program.
  • Program management experience

Skills

  • Excellent communications skills, interpersonal, intercultural and reflective practice skills
  • Excellent budget management skills to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in efforts to support a diverse population in a postsecondary environment
