We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with family-owned Canadian chicken farmers to produce high quality products.Sunrise Poultry, the largest individual chicken processing plant in Western Canada is currently looking for Production Workers to join our high-paced production line team. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are dependable and show up for work on time as well as thrive in a team-oriented environment. Embrace the challenge of manual, repetitive tasks and thrive in the unique setting of a refrigerated environment. Your keen eye will be crucial in inspecting and grading poultry, ensuring only the best in size and quality make it through. Beyond production, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitizing equipment and work areas to uphold our commitment to safety and hygiene.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Packaging and processing of bone in and bone out products that would meet the company, CFIA and customer specifications
  • Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy
  • Ensure that production requirements and standards are consistently being met
  • Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
  • Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all safety guidelines
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude

    • Requirements for the position:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate with teammates and leadership
  • Able to work in cold temperatures of 0 - 10C
  • Comfortable working with raw meat products
  • Positive attitude and safety focused
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Able to work 8-hour shifts standing
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Able to work around machinery and in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience working with poultry an asset
  • Previous packaging experience an asset
  • 1+ year experience working in the food manufacturing industry preferred
  • Certificates in WHIMIS and Food Safe is an asset
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a Valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate. (First Aid Level 2 premium is offered)
