    Job Posting: Swim Instructors at Kilcoo Camp

    ABOUT US: Established in 1932, Kilcoo Camp is a private overnight summer camp for boys located on Gull Lake near Haliburton, Ontario. Our mission is to boost campers' confidence, nurture independence, forge lasting friendships, and empower boys to grow through outdoor activities, sports, and wilderness adventures.

    Kilcoo Camp is in search of skilled swim instructors to lead Lifesaving Society programs for youths aged 8 to 15, from Swim Patrol to Bronze Cross levels. Alongside teaching, instructors will also be responsible for lifeguarding. This role includes accommodation and meals, with the requirement to reside on-site from June 21 to August 26, 2024.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times
    • Conduct 3 to 5 daily swim classes for boys aged 8 to 15, spanning different skill levels
    • Act as a lifeguard during free swims and special activities
    • Support the Waterfront Director in overseeing lakefront safety and water programs

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Must hold a valid National Lifeguard certification until the end of Summer 2024
    • Current Lifesaving Instructor certification up to Summer 2024
    • Bronze Examiner certification is a bonus
    • Preferably a university or college student
    • Successful Police Record Check
