We are looking for a Maintenance Lead Hand at our Walker NVIRO Biosolids Facility in Sudbury, ON. This facility is the final stage, yet an integral part, of the City of Greater Sudbury's wastewater treatment operations.


Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Lead Hand will take control of the maintenance program of the Biosolids Processing Facility.

As a senior member of the team you will have a role in facilitating a mentoring approach to capacity team building.

This is a permanent, full time position.


Responsibilities:


  • Management of the facility's electronic maintenance program including critical parts inventory control and developing and assigning work orders.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Managing contractors for larger maintenance requirements.
  • Mentors operating staff to ensure the correct operation of wastewater treatment processes to meet effluent compliance limits.
  • Mentors operating staff in maintenance and operational activities
  • Share oncall shift duties with Plant Manager.
  • Work in accordance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Promote a professional work environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Desired to have ten or more years of wastewater management experience.
  • Must have Operator in Training (OIT) certificate as a minimum. Preference given to those applicants with higher level wastewater certifications.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, in oral and written form.
  • Must be willing to become Confined Space certified.
  • As a senior member of the team must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
