Key Responsibilities
- Create various communication and engagement materials such as construction notices, letters, project presentations, fact sheets, infographics, photos, videos, blog posts and content for project websites and social media.
- Work with various project teams to proactively identify projectrelated issues and provide appropriate tactics for communications and community engagement.
- Monitor traditional and social media regarding public feedback and sentiment.
- Support planning and organizing events such as community meetings, public information sessions, popups, site visits and milestone celebrations.
- Attend and participate in client, stakeholder and community meetings. Draft meeting agendas, meeting minutes and action items.
- Represent the company in large and small public settings in a professional and skillful manner.
- Develop positive relationships with external audiences including clients, residents, business owners, stakeholders, community organizations and elected officials.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education or relevant experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, issues management and media relations.
- An indepth knowledge of community engagement and public communications best practices.
- Great communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends depending on schedule of public events.
- Great interpersonal skills: this role requires interaction with team leaders, clients, stakeholders, elected officials and the public.
- Ability to think strategically and recommend effective solutions about strategies for community engagement.
- Detailoriented, responsive and proactive.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to project offices in Toronto and Mississauga.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least five years of experience working on public infrastructure projects.
- Previous transportation or construction industry experience is an asset.
- Experience creating graphic design materials for public distribution a significant asset.
- Previous photography, videography and editing experience is a significant asset.
Salary:
$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
