    We are on the lookout for:

    GHD is currently in search of a Senior Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team at either the Waterloo or GTA office locations. Our Mechanical Design division extends engineering assistance primarily in Ontario, while also supporting the expansive network of over 10,000 GHD employees globally. We handle all facets of mechanical design, encompassing process mechanical aspects, mechanical utility services, and seamless coordination with various core disciplines for integrated project delivery. Our projects span across diverse sectors such as water and wastewater management, co-generation, biogas and natural gas systems, agricultural and food services, and industrial facility support. Our team encounters a wide array of projects and challenges, varying in scale and complexity, requiring our Mechanical Engineering professionals to exhibit flexibility in their approach to address a broad spectrum of design requirements.

    As part of an enthusiastic and high-performing team, this role presents a diverse array of responsibilities including:

    • Analyze client technical specifications and mechanical engineering requirements
    • Lead and supervise the creation of mechanical system designs and manage drawing and 3D model production
    • Coordinate hydraulic and stress analyses for critical piping systems
    • Create, review, and assume accountability for contract documentation and specifications related to process mechanical requisites
    • Collaborate with core discipline teams and internal/external stakeholders to align and accomplish project goals efficiently
    • Act as a mentor to team members, offering guidance to both junior engineers and engineering technicians
    • Ensure clear and concise technical communication with stakeholders at varying management levels
    • Regularly engage with clients, vendors, and contractors to maintain effective communication

    Qualifications and skills we are looking for:

    • Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience, preferably with a focus on municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities
    • Experience in designing large wastewater pumping stations for municipal areas
    • Background in project management is advantageous
    • Proficiency in BIM 360, REVIT, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks is a plus
    • Adaptability to handle diverse client requirements and project types
    • Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities
    • Capability to lead and multitask within a team environment with acute attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to various audiences
    • Hold a valid Ontario driver's license and be open to travel within Ontario and Canada as needed
