    What it's like to be a Northbridge Financial Director AI/ML

    Reporting to the VP, Data and Analytics, this is a key role to lead us as we look to advance our predictive and prescriptive capability using applied statistics, machine learning or artificial intelligence to build business solutions. A central partner to the business the AI/ML solutions team will be under this role's leadership to help further unlock the value from our data and support our transformation in becoming an analytics data driven organization.

    This role will lead a team of data scientists focused on delivering measured value through AI/ML use cases that span across the NBFC business. A major priority is to help increase the data and analytics literacy with the business and through partnering with different business areas help identify a suite of use cases that will contribute to a multi-year AI/ML roadmap. Key to the success of the role is being a functional expert, driven by delivering business value and help the team across the AI/ML lifecycle from business problem definition to feature engineering to deployment and measurement.

    An ideal candidate will have a passion for AI/ML and to foster a team of AI/ML and business experts; an analytical mindset, be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, detail oriented and have desire to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. A keen interest in influencing business performance through insights is a must.

    If you are great at:

  • Leading a team of data scientists in creating and delivering high quality AI solutions
  • Being a change champion and help the business conduct business problem opportunities and assessment identifying revenue generation and cost saving opportunities, developing proposals and make recommendations for model usage to the downstream partners.
  • Challenging the team to utilize creative thinking to modify or select the most suitable procedure/approach to solve a business problem balancing complexity and value.
  • Driving change within team and across broader Data & Analytics the importance of learning our business and the respective to help aid in our building the best solutions – be a business expert.
  • Collaborating and influence across a wide range of business and technical stakeholders

    • If you have:

  • B. Sc Computer Science, Mathematics, Stats, Engineering
  • Masters in Management Analytics, MBA or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of progressive AI/ML experience and 4+ years of leading a team in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions (predictive, prescriptive, ML etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge in scalable data engineering, software engineering and/or ML Ops practices
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure for model development, deployment, and monitoring is an asset
  • Experience in Property & Casualty insurance is an asset
