CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Research Coordinator.


The Research Coordinator will facilitate research projects involving staff who work in the division of Development and Rehabilitation, including the Chronic Pain program.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Manager in Development and Rehabilitation, the Research Coordinator will:

  • Assists researchers in the day-to day activities involved in the conduct of research including, but not limited to the creation and maintenance of research files according to study guidelines, the collection and coding of research information and the maintenance of databases
  • Responsible for patient recruitment including screening and obtaining informed consents
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of research files according to study guidelines (Good Clinical Practice Guidelines).
  • Responsible for the collection and coding of research information
  • Assists in the database design and be responsible for the maintenance of the databases and the data dictionary
  • Responsible for data integrity
  • Responsible for future training with respect to scoring and coding systems
  • Perform basic statistics and prepare summary data results
  • Assist in the preparation of posters, presentations, newsletters and pamphlets
  • Perform various administrative duties
  • Perform literature searches and summarize research articles
  • Coordinate, organize, attend and/or chair relevant research meetings
  • Budgetary monitoring of any obtained funding
  • Acts as key communicator between study personnel, CHEO REB, CHEO RI, sites and investigators.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • University Masters level degree (e.g., M.A., M.Sc.) (Essential)
  • Minimum 12 years research experience (Essential)
  • GCP, TPCS2, certifications (Essential)
  • Understanding of research design, guidelines and standards governing clinical research (Essential)
  • Understanding of the Personal Health Information Protection Act and good clinical practices (Essential)
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of research related software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, literature search engines, Reference Manager or equivalent) (Essential)
  • Knowledge and practice of statistical software, including SPSS and (Essential)
  • Experience in report writing, publication and communication briefs (Essential)
  • Data Management experience (REDCap) (Essential)
  • Outstanding organizational, accountability and time management skills (Essential)
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and think critically (Essential)
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment (Essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
  • Excellent interpersonnel skills (Essential)
  • Experience with Health Canada Procedures (preferred)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) (preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC (preferred)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Clinic setting work within hospital; exposure to children and parents and/or caregivers.
  • Flexibility to work remotely in a hybrid work model that would include both remote work and onsite work.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligible to work in Canada;
  • Compliance with CHEO RI's Universal COVID19 Vaccination Policy; and
  • Police Record Check.
