    Description

    Steele Auto Group has an opening for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Dartmouth, NS This opportunity offers a hybrid work model.

    The Part-Time Payroll Administrator plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee recordkeeping. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong grasp of payroll regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are met
  • Run payroll processing activities including new hires, terminations, timekeeping, and employee changes
  • Reconcile payroll results and perform audit checks
  • Follow proper procedures for payroll sign off/approval
  • Run monthly/quarterly reports
  • Conduct quarterly balancing of year end totals
  • Update processing documentation as needed
  • Act as day-to-day liaison with dealership designated contacts for payroll-related processing
  • Timely review and resolution of issues
  • Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact running the payrolls
  • Process relevant tax forms for employees
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation, and systems
  • Process forms such as ROE, tax forms, remittances
  • Keeping employee profile data up to date

    • Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education with a focus on accounting
  • 1-3 years of previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
  • PCP designation would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of MS Office, with an intermediate focus on Excel
  • UKG experience would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of year-end processing required for all provinces
  • Able to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met
