Responsibilities:


ABOUT THE JOB:


In this position, you will be developing, maintaining, and supporting the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program in the Americas (AMER) region by liaising extensively with the business representatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and overall risk management and best practice requirements.

You will join a supportive, collaborative, and agile team of 4 professionals based in NYC and Chicago, including your direct manager who promotes cross-training and collaboration.

As the sole individual on the Montreal team, you will ensure adequate business continuity planning is in place and support all initiatives together with the Head of BCM, Americas.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

  • BCP

Lifecycle Updates:
Execute the annual review of the BCP lifecycle activities (BIA, BCP, Testing) for identified areas of coverage.

  • Testing Program Coordination (AMER): Participate in pretest meetings; prepare testing terms of reference based on identified areas of coverage and goals and scope; assist in posttest reporting and tracking of all posttests corrective actions.
  • Crisis / Incident management: Serve as member of Crisis Incident / Response Team and Operations Team Command Center during incidents to assist Société Générale business units in coordination, plan activation, and communications and logistics at times of incidents. Assist the Regional BCM Manager with crisis management training and exercises.

Tools Administration:

Assist with administration/maintenance for BCM tools including Employee notification tool (MIR3), data referential Doors (Microsoft Access D/B), and several data Sharepoints for client access.

Participate in global tools projects to ensure best solutions and results for AMER and Global objectives.

  • Governance and Reporting: Support the BCM program in execution of governance objectives including permanent supervision and operational risk reporting, developing weekly BCM dashboard, biweekly KRI and regular program status reports and prepare adhoc management reporting as requested for periodic regulator and Audit reviews

Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of the BCM lifecycle components
  • Efficient communications skills (both verbal and written) to ensure that BCM program status, requirements and deliverables are clearly communicated to management and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure that BCP deliverables are tracked efficiently.
  • Attention to detail to guide the business toward successful development of literate BCP arrangements and documentation.
  • Good social and presentation skills to ensure coherent communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Collaboration and cooperation are a key factor in developing good working relationships and sets the foundation for successful partnering with our clients, suppliers, and colleagues.

Qualifications:
1. 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in Business Continuity Management, preferably in the financial industry


Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingualism (French and English) would be preferred
  • On-call availability is mandatory to manage crises as they arise

Nice-to-have:
Previous experience or exposure with compliance and regulatory requirements since we operate in a highly regulated environment
