    Description

    PURPOSE:

    Reporting to the Controller, this position ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the operation and effectiveness of the Accounting department.
  • Assists in the review and analysis of monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including a financial and operational analysis presentation and a corporate results commentary.
  • Primarily responsible for month-end close.
  • Calculate and maintain manufacturing labor and overhead rates.
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing variances, product costs, and inventories.
  • Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts.
  • Participates in the annual budget process and any operational and financial results forecasting.
  • Reconcile and report the royalties to premium threading licensors.
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of Canadian income tax returns and filings. Ensure all US tax compliance filing and reporting requirements are met.
  • Provides support to the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll-related tasks and activities.
  • Responsible for the capital asset continuity schedule, as well as the recording of the acquisitions and disposals of fixed assets.
  • Responsible for other projects and tasks at the direction of the Controller.

    • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Studies.
  • Pursuing a CPA designation will be an asset.
  • 5+ years of professional finance and accounting experience.
  • Skilled with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Skilled knowledge of network platforms, including Microsoft Office and Dynamics AX.
  • General knowledge of products and services in relation to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, analytical and organizational skills, and willingness to improve processes.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles and the ability to impart that knowledge to others.

    • WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment, extended sitting & computer use.
