About the role:


Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of corporate human resource functions including recruitment, employee relations, policy and program development and implementation, training and development, and performance management that is applied across all KGHMI sites.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Daytoday administration of the HR division, including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Developing and maintaining job descriptions and ensuring timely updates;
  • Supporting the recruitment process for the corporate office and other locations, which may include prescreen and behavioral interviews, reference checks, and preparing offer letters.
  • Coordinating the provincial and extended health care benefits programs, other benefits and administrative processes.
  • Administering HRrelated contracts with vendors, managing contract extensions, tracking expiry dates and verifying accuracy of the invoices.
  • Preparing and compiling various HR reports;
  • Gathering and analyzing HRrelated data from the corporate office and all the subsidiaries and preparing extensive summaries presenting the results and conclusions.
  • Providing managers and supervisors with salary benchmarks and compensation recommendations for current and future employees, per request;
  • Actively participating in annual merit increases in KGHMI subsidiaries, including data verification, recommendations for the managers and preparing documents for approval.
  • Assisting in planning, managing, and executing the annual performance management process from goal setting and development planning through mid and yearend performance reviews and annual bonus calculations.
  • Supporting the delivery of all Human Resources training programs ensuring the necessary education, materials, and learning methods provided to managers and employees;
  • Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and nonmandatory training, educational assistance program and other development initiatives as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating the current employee policy manual to reflect changing circumstances, legislative changes and new requirements.
  • Managing and reconciling office administrative budget and spending;
  • Managing offsite file storage;
  • Managing all outgoing and incoming KGHMI mail, faxes, couriers and other shipments;
  • Managing and ordering office tools and supplies (e.g. ink for printers, printer paper, office supplies);
  • Coordinating access passes for office employees and visitors.
  • Organizing and coordinating all KGHMI meetings physically held in the Vaughan office;
  • Managing all KGHMI catering needs for the Vaughan office;
  • Coordinating event planning for staff for annual, monthly and weekly activities.
  • Administering KGHMI social media accounts and job boards: Updating information about the company and available jobs on a regular basis;
  • Coordinating, creating, and placing content for the company's social media platforms;
  • Working with the HR teams from the subsidiaries on content development, topics, and posting opportunities.
  • Supporting site HR managers as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required/Related Work Experience:


  • 35 years experience in HR in a fastpaced environment.
  • Solid technical human resources knowledge in a variety of functional areas (talent development and management, succession planning, employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition, policies and procedures development, compliance).
  • Experience with compensation and global mobility would be an asset.
