  • Summary:_
  • Oversees BCAA's talent acquisition in partnership with HR Leadership and Senior Management to deliver the right talent at the right time
  • Ambassador of BCAA for recruitment related activities (career fairs, post secondary relationships, etc)
  • Key Responsibilities:_
  • Strategies:
  • Anticipates hiring needs across BCAA and utilizes appropriate resources (agencies) to meet hiring needs In collaboration with senior management plans strategies to meet upcoming recruitment needs of the organization.
  • Develops a localized recruitment strategy that meets the need of current and future roles, ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and efficient time to hire
  • Advises Senior Management on significant staffing, sourcing and recruiting initiatives
  • Advises on the overall direction of the recruiting strategy, guidelines and procedures concerning staffing best practices, systems and methodology
  • Collaborates with the Procurement Team to source, select, and manage staffing vendors related to talent acquisition
  • Daily Operations:
  • Owns the day to day recruitment and maintains the relationships with HR Advisors and Hiring Managers; oversees the recruiting process from job posting through to the signing of the offer.
  • Acts in consultative role to hiring managers and HR Advisors during offer stage
  • Manages Hiring Managers' expectations regarding recruitment timelines advising on the current market trends
  • Responsible for coordinating external advertising, applicant tracking, and promoting employee referral program
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of recruiting issues and trends, labour laws and legislative initiatives that have short and longterm implications on the profitability of the business
  • Develops, track and analyze all recruiting programs to optimize ROI
  • Assists with additional HR related tasks and projects as needed
  • Ensures Interview Guides meet the current needs of the BCAA and the market
  • Ensure supplier performance metrics are developed and monitored
  • Maintains and reports recruitment metrics
  • Provides management training on effective hiring practices
  • Advocates on behalf of BCAA on recruitment related initiative e.g. Campus Recruiting, Employer Branding, Sourcing & Selection activities
  • Guides HR Coordinators on recruitment related matters
  • Qualifications:_
  • Education:
  • Post secondary degree; preferably in HR Management, Marketing and/or Business, or related field
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 57 years experience in a talent acquisition or related role, including 3 years of full cycle inhouse recruitment experience in variety of roles and disciplines
  • Proven business acumen in translating business strategies into recruitment and retention solutions
  • Experience negotiating with third party suppliers, i.e. recruiting agencies, Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a network of professional internal and external relationships over an extended period of time
  • Leadership:
  • Proven ability to appropriately influence Hiring Managers in making sound hiring decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Technical:
  • Advanced skills in HR Management Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems and MS Office
  • Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to solve problems independently and deliver results in a fast paced environment
  • Prioritizing skills
  • Preferred Qualifications:_
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous agency recruitment experience
  • CHRP designation
  • Actively involved with BCHRMA or other relevant professional associations
  • Recruitment experience in the insurance, financial, hospitality and/or operations
  • Recruitment experience in a unionized work environment
