- Oversee the recovery, processing, and redistribution of surplus or outdated materials and equipment, aligning with company sustainability goals.
- Manage the disposal of materials and equipment in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with various departments to assess asset recovery needs and implement effective recovery strategies.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and control by conducting thorough cycle counts and audits to identify discrepancies and optimize inventory levels.
- Lead the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform maintenance checks and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other material handling devices.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset recovery processes by developing and implementing new procedures that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding material requests, ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of an asset recovery database to track materials throughout their lifecycle.
- Facilitate training sessions for new staff and volunteers in proper asset recovery techniques and safety protocols.
- High School Diploma or GED with further certification in asset management or materials handling preferred.
- A valid Alberta driver's license, with a clean driving record.
- At least three (3) years of related experience in a warehousing environment; specifically in asset recovery or a related field.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards related to waste management and recycling.
- Certification as electric forklift operator, Standard First Aid, TDG, and WHMIS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.
