Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible to the Base Lead and/or Deployment Lead for the performance of their work and to the DQA for the quality and regulatory compliance of their work. Responsible to maintain validity of his/her TCCA AME M2 license at all times;

1. Review of the Technical Log, Purchase Order, and associated documents for the maintenance requested;
2. A Work Order is initiated with appropriate check sheets and additional work sheets are attached;
3. Work related tasks are assigned to appropriately trained maintenance personnel;
4. The inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, or replacement of parts is done in accordance with the Parts and Material section of the TA Policies and Procedures;
5. Inspection by certifying personnel has been carried out;
6. Dual inspections have been carried out as required;
7. Functional tests have been carried out as required;
8. A review of all documentation for completeness has been carried out;
9. A computerized maintenance release itemizing all maintenance performed and any outstanding defects is generated and entered appropriately;
10. Ensure the work accomplished on any aircraft or component is in compliance with:
    • The applicable manufacturer's recommended standards;
    • Canadian Aviation Regulations;
    • Company policies and procedures;
11. Ensure that all replacement parts are inspected, eligible, and properly certified prior to installation;
12. Ensure that the removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine;
13. Inform the DOM or his delegate of irregularities on the status of required maintenance tasks;
14. Perform Receiving Inspection Authority functions as required;
15. Assist in the On-the-Job training and instruction of personnel;
16. Attend training courses to ensure continued qualifications;
17. Experience on a commercial or military aircraft;
18. Experience in Line Maintenance in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Holds a valid TCCA AME M2 license in a recognized discipline;

2 years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (an asset);

Able to work independently with minimal supervision;

Able to work on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge;

Able to problem solve and troubleshoot;

Able to communicate in English;

Team player;

Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Excellence, Service, Integrity, and Together;

Physical Requirements

Lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling up to 70 lbs;

Working in confined spaces;

Working Conditions

Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and shift work according to flight operations;

Will be required to work outdoors;

Travel is required for the position;

International travel may also be required in this role;

You will have the following responsibilities in order to comply with the company's Occupational Health and Safety program:

• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor;
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

• Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment;
• Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately.

Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR

Position requires Level II Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
