    Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) stands at the forefront globally in water recovery, treatment, and reuse. Operating across various sectors including food and beverage, municipal water, microelectronics ultrapure water, and heavy industrial wastewater treatment, we specialize in designing, supplying, and managing a spectrum of water systems. Our comprehensive portfolio comprises chemical & monitoring solutions, start-up & operation services, membrane & ion exchange products, and bespoke engineered equipment.

    Members of the Process Engineering team, specifically Process Engineers, play a vital role as technical innovators supporting clients in the North American market. They are instrumental in ensuring the successful sale, implementation, and running of complete system solutions for clients' water treatment needs. Leveraging their profound technical expertise in our solutions and technologies, they also demonstrate an understanding of customer processes, market dynamics, regulations, and competitors to strike a balance between capital and operational costs, technical risks, and commercial feasibility to secure new opportunities.

    Wastewater Process Engineers oversee the process design of wastewater treatment solutions for our Food and Beverage clients. This includes wastewater characterization, design basis development, unit process selection and design, equipment sizing, and process performance guarantees. Employing a variety of biological treatment technologies such as membrane bioreactors (MBR), mixed bed bioreactors (MBBR), biological nutrient removal (BNR), and anaerobic digestion processes, they assess system performance under normal and abnormal conditions, identify possible failure points, and contribute to detailed hazard reviews. Additionally, they engage in piloting and treatability studies as part of the design, commissioning, and issue resolution process.

    Building enduring relationships with clients and industry experts, Process Engineers share their technical prowess at industry gatherings to position Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) as thought leaders in the water treatment market. They play a pivotal role in driving innovation in solutions, technologies, and markets within the business, as well as providing training and mentorship in process design.

    Qualifications

    In addition to the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, manage multiple tasks effectively, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and work autonomously to meet deadlines, we are looking for candidates with:

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Advanced degrees in an accredited Engineering field – Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical preferred, or other technical disciplines with focus on process design and/or controls of wastewater treatment
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent design and/or field experience, preferably 10 years or more.
  • Proficiency in biological wastewater processes and system design/operation for industrial applications – especially in membrane bioreactors, biological nutrient removal, and anaerobic digestion processes
  • Ability to integrate multiple unit operations to form a cohesive process

    • Valuable skills, capabilities, or experiences:

  • Professional Engineer's License, or eligibility to attain one within one (1) year
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Sound judgment in changing situations
  • Team player mentality
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish language could be beneficial, but not mandatory
  • Willingness to travel periodically within North America
