Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician monitors and inspects products, materials, equipment, and production facilities to excel customer expectations and comply with government regulations, Sofina Quality by Process philosophy and Quality Assurance programs and specifications.

Key Accountabilities:

Demonstrate familiarity with Quality Assurance documents (HACCP Plans, CCPs, pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.) and complete corresponding records;
Perform Quality Assurance checks to ensure all procedures are fully implemented;
Understand, operate and calibrate all lab equipment (autoclave, incubator, scales, thermometers, etc.) in accordance with standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation;
Conduct microbiological tests;
Participate in internal and external quality audits and operational reviews, providing timely feedback and corrective recommendations to the QA Manager and the Plant Management;
Assist the QA Manager in orienting all employees on quality, regulatory and food safety principles.

Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Food Sciences;
Related 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing production environment is an asset;
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Quality regulatory requirements and systems;
Strong understanding of manufacturing food processes;
Strong analytical and communication skills.
