Encompassing 100 hectares at the back of Humber College North Campus, the Humber Arboretum is free to visit and offers a variety of programming to both Humber College students and the general public. It exists as a unique tri-partnership between Humber College, City of Toronto, and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. The Centre for Urban Ecology (CUE) is home to the Humber Arboretum's educational programs and special events.     Job Details:

    Position Title: Customer Service Support Officer

    Status: Full Time Support

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week (mainly Monday to Friday with possible weekend work)

    Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness – Humber Arboretum

    Campus/Location: North Campus

    Hourly Rate: Payband E: $ $32.24

    What you will do:

    Under supervision of the Manager of the Humber Arboretum, the Customer Service Support Officer is responsible for providing confidential operational, financial, and administrative support to allow the organization to function efficiently and effectively. Incumbent is also responsible for overseeing the planning and logistics of events run solely by the Humber Arboretum or in collaboration with other departments, faculties, or hubs in connection with Humber College.

    Qualifications

    What you bring to the role:

    Education:

    • A 3-year degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, Administration, and any other related fields of study, with professional certification in Quickbooks.

    Experience:

    At least 5 years overall related experience including:

    • Preference will be given to candidates with at least 2 years' experience working with outdoor educational programs in Ontario Parks and/or conservation areas.
    • QuickBooks training
    • Mental Health First Aid
    • Microsoft Teams, ZOOM, WebEx, BlackBoard
    • Standard First Aid and CPR C
    • PIPEDA training
    • Strong knowledge of Ontario Camping Accreditation Standards as they relate to Human Resources

    Skills:

    • Proven ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple competing deadlines, demonstrate flexibility.
    • Knowledge & familiarity with college structure & experience in an educational environment is essential.
    • Ability to work independently/ self-motivated.
    • Well-developed bookkeeping skills or related financial experience and demonstrated experience in monthly financial reporting and tracking.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
    • Highly developed oral & written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent knowledge of spread sheet, database and word processing software with attendant keyboarding skills.
    • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.
    • Able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of Arboretum operations is considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of or an interest in nature and sustainability is considered an asset.
