    System Assurance Lead/Engineer - (ENGEN31.Comtech) is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing integrated consulting solutions on complex capital projects, including Program and Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Technical Advisory, Construction Management, and Technology Integration Services.

    System Assurance Lead/Engineer
    Full-time

    Internal Title:
    Engineering III)
    Engaging in the practice of professional engineering which:
    Requires the application of engineering principles
    Planning, designing, composing, evaluating, advising, reporting, directing or supervising, or managing any of these acts
    Complying with regulations and guidelines for the practice of professional engineering in the Province of licensure including but not limited to professional responsibility, Engineer's duty to report, use of the Professional Engineer's seal, due diligence, report writing, giving opinions, communications, confidential information, data gathering, and site investigations
    Performing day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified for the project in the engineering area of specialty

    Planning for and executing appropriate means and methods in the engineering area of specialty to complete the assigned task and duties on medium-sized projects or medium-sized project elements on larger projects or programs from inception through to completion.

    Reviewing and ensuring adherence to the scope, schedule, and budget in the engineering area of specialty
    Evaluating project effectiveness in engineering area of specialty by consulting with clients and project staff
    Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations in engineering area of specialty, to project team and client team
    Consulting with the assigned manager or Project Supervisor to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project
    Providing guidelines for Project Safety analyses (from preliminary hazards analysis to certification) in alignment with standards and guidelines
    Determining Safety certification requirements for the CEP projects in coordination with program and project teams
    Providing guidelines for the development of a Safety Certification Plan to the project teams
    Providing guidelines for Project RAM analysis and defining targets and performance requirements
    Provide oversight and review of the CEP projects' systems assurance activities
    Providing guidelines for the Safety and assurance activities' acceptance criteria to the project teams
    Review the Project Safety Certification plans and oversee the execution of the Safety Certification activities
    Review (safety and assurance aspects) of pre-design, design, and V&V deliverables
    Liaison with O&M, V&V, and integration leads to support CEP projects' integration and handover
    Knowledge and experience in Automatic Train Control systems assurance is necessary while knowledge and experience in other rail systems (Traction Power, Trackwork, Fire Ventilation and Communication systems) and rapid transit operation and maintenance would be an asset
    Undergraduate Degree in Engineering in area of specialty


    Licenses or Certifications:
    ~ 8+ years of experience in engineering area of specialty

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    Expert in other engineering-related software applicable to the area of specialty
    In-depth understanding of prevailing engineering means and methods in area of specialty
    Ability to effectively lead a small team in an engineering area of specialty
