With a staff of 14,000, the Toronto Catholic is a dynamic school board and is seeking a Supervisor Print & Strategic Support.


CRITERIA FOR AN INTERVIEW ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Minimum of a three (3) year college diploma in Business Administration/Management or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of two (2) years working experience in a supervisory role in School Facility Management

Proven leadership experience and direct supervision of staff in a unionized environment

Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods used in public sector procurement, tendering and contract administration

Knowledge of principles of project budgeting, monitoring, and oversight

Proven ability to communicate effectively with all employees and all levels of administration, in a service capacity

Proven experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites; SAP an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills, along with effective written and verbal communication skills

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational and time management skills

Proven customer service-related experience

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to and under the direction of the Manager of Strategy and Process Improvement, the primary function of the job is to supervise and oversee the activities and functions of the printing and shipping department and to provide strategic business support to the Environmental Support Services team related to financial management, policy compliance and procurement, initiatives and reporting.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Monitor, maintain and administer the print shop budget, processes transactions for purchasing, accounts payable, other financial transactions, and payroll/time reporting, including P-Card transactions and preparation of supporting documentation and records

Plan and organize the operational logistics of the shipping and receiving area

Supervise and prioritize projects/jobs and resolve issues as required

Recommend guidelines, processes and procedures to ensure reliable, efficient operations and to maintain privacy of mail and other confidential material

Participates in the preparation and monitoring of the Environmental Support Services annual budget and quarterly / year-end variance analysis and prepare reports as required

Oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development/implementation of departmental initiatives and assigned projects

Ensure effective teamwork and communication, high standards of work quality and organizational performance and continuous learning.

Prepare the necessary information (e.g. equipment technical specifications) for tendering and participate in the review, analysis and evaluation of tender bids

Other duties as assigned and/or required
