We are looking for a
Payroll Coordinator who loves working with numbers and being a compassionate, knowledgeable source for payroll and benefits related inquiries.

As an integral member of our HR team, you will be responsible for the following:


Payroll

  • Complete semimonthly payroll processing for approximately 150 hourly and salaried employees at several locations across Western Canada.
  • Coordinate the annual T4 process including administration and reconciliation.
  • Data entry and maintenance of employee information in the payroll system.
  • Payroll reconciliations to the General Ledger.

Benefits/Claims Administration

  • Provide monthly employee listings to our benefits providers and ensure invoices are paid.
  • Monitor and reconcile benefits premium statements and manage cost share of premiums within the payroll system.
  • Calculate RRSP matching contributions and process payments through provider.
  • Complete the paperwork required for disability claims and liaise with the benefits provider to ensure claims are administered appropriately.
  • Monitor and ensure payments to WCB and other reporting bodies are accurately processed.

Onboarding

  • Collaborate with the HR Coordinator to deliver and exceptional employee onboarding experience.
  • Includes coordination between our IT, marketing, and operational departments to ensure the new hire has all appropriate training required for their position booked into their schedule.

Administration

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of employee engagement events and activities.
  • Provide additional administrative support and complete various other duties and projects as identified by management.
  • Maintain confidential employee files including completing all document filing in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years experience processing payroll and administering benefits
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in ADP Workforce Now
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise complete discretion while handling confidential information
  • Strong customer service mindset when assisting employees
