QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field, or relevant experience that shows steady progression in HR roles;
  • 5+ years delivering HR services and programs in a dynamic work environment;
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and demonstrated experience in coaching and advising management in an HR capacity;
  • Analytical and strategic thinker but also flexible and practical solutions focused;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Ability to lead change initiatives, specifically in HR program development and implementation, and continuous improvement of HR processes;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels;
  • CHRP designation, or in progress, a strong asset;
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to organize workload, set priorities, and respond effectively to competing demands; and
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the annual performance management process including the tracking of performance management and developing employee goal setting and learning plans processes;
  • Spearhead a people leader training program to strengthen people leader's employee engagement skills and knowledge of expectations and best practice;
  • Lead the employee engagement program in support of organizational priorities while enhancing the employee experience (inclusive of employee surveys, analysis of survey results, program monitoring and feedback from participants);
  • Serve as a change agent and support the delivery of the strategic plan by leading our efforts to modernize our employee engagement;
  • Provide coaching and advice to senior leadership and people leaders on human resources best practice;
  • Lead an organizational culture review project, in partnership with an external agency, identifying and creating an action plan for change;
  • Implement short
- and long-range human resources goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program and operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvements;

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a Talent Acquisition Specialist and a Payroll and Benefits Specialist; and
  • Monitor and develop as needed organizationwide staff HR Policies and ensure organization remain compliant and up to date with all provincial employment legislation and Imagine Canada Standards.
