The Office of Residence Education & Programs (OREP) provides a myriad of academic, social and
leadership programs that help students transition to university life, build connections with others, and
develop life skills outside the classroom. We take pride in the Western student experience and encourage

Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities
The Student Projects Assistant (s) will work with the Residence Life Management Team (RLMT) to accomplish summer and yearlong projects as outlined below and new projects that emerge over the summer months and academic year.
The incumbent(s) will liaise with key partners on campus and within the residence system in order to coordinate efforts to develop creative and effective programs, student leadership training input, and program materials.
The project outcomes aim to support the programming and leadership efforts of the Residence Staff, Sophs, and Residents' Councils in the upcoming academic year.
The Student Projects Assistant(s) are required to review current programming materials, update information, and produce effective results in the specific project areas.
Specific accountabilities include:
Aid in supporting the RLMT with a variety of summer projects and committee work determined in May.
Residence Life supply procurement
Collection and inventory of Fire Safety supplies from all residences
Collection, inventory, and restock of First Aid supplies for all residences
Collection, inventory, and restock of supplies for all programming offices
Collection and inventory of programming supplies for all residences (including A/V equipment; lifting up to 50lbs will be required at times)
Inventory of Front Desk Supplies for all residences
Inventory of building posters and campus maps for all residences
Inventory and maintenance of flag supply closet (flags, poles, bases, finials)
Ordering supplies necessary for the academic year, accurately documenting orders to keep for inventory
Develop and plan the Residence-Based Day Program with the RLMT, Residence Orientation Coordinator (ROC), Programming Coordinator(s) and the Associate Director, Residence Engagement
Prepare informative lobby materials to welcome first-year students to Western (campus maps, bus schedules, residence staff/soph pictures etc.)
Maintenance of OREP Storage Rooms
Maintenance of Staff, Soph, and Council rooms for all residence buildings
Edit and update Residence Life Important Dates Calendar for Residence Staff
Create reports of Residence programs
Create buttons required for residence staff and sophs, faculty sophs, and program-related buttons (EG Ask, Listen, Connect)
Assist with Residence Life Coordinator Training
Assist with summer conferences
Update the Residence Staff Reference Guide
Review and update the Community Development Model
Assist with the development of Staff/Soph/Council Summer Newsletters
Assist with preparation and logistics for the August Learning and Development Conference
Assist Residence Admissions with call volume after room assignment process
Assist with move out for London Hall & Western English Language Centre summer students
Assist the Community Development Leader with the Tenant Appreciation BBQ and any other summer or yearlong programming requirements as they arise
Assist the Training Coordinator with data collection and assessment for Residents' Council training
Assist the Programming Coordinator(s) with feedback and revisions to Residents' Councils on training, program plans, and budgets
Other project priorities as they arise during the summer and/or academic year
Coordinate and execute set up and take down for planned programs and events organized by OREP or the broader Residence Life Management Team
Responsible for administrative work as assigned by OREP
The Student Projects Assistant(s) report to the Residence Training Coordinator throughout the summer and the Programming Coordinator(s) throughout the academic year.
