    Position Summary

    Our strategic sourcing team requires a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to assist in identifying, qualifying, selecting, coordinating and managing global vendors who manufacture our products and components. This individual will have responsibility for establishing and managing the business relationship with our Contract Manufacturing ("CM") partners. Establishing and closely monitoring performance metrics with our CM partners will be a primary target as well as working to continuously improve the cost, quality, delivery, and lead-time of Corvus products, ensuring supply is synchronized with demand and supports production timelines.

    The position will also be involved in enabling our Tactical Purchasing Team in their operational purchasing with our CM partners and other suppliers engaged within development, improvement and alpha/beta builds ready-realized for manufacturing.

    Main Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Learn the complete Corvus product from design, production, testing, and the supply chain that supports this product.
    • Drive cross-functional processes involving hardware engineering and technical operations to evaluate and select future CM partners as business conditions dictate.
    • Manage ongoing business relationships and facilitate open communication between CMs and Corvus through team meetings, action item lists, performance reporting, etc.
    • Drive total cost reduction programs with internal teams and manufacturing partners to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost and cost of quality.
    • Create, update and manage Purchase Orders using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (when needed).
    • Ensure timely and accurate communication of purchase orders and resolve any shipment or invoice discrepancies between CMs, customers, sub-suppliers and 3PL partners.
    • Drive capacity planning processes with CMs to ensure adequate lead time to add equipment and tooling as required by demand forecasts.
    • Assist tactical purchasing activities (when needed) to ensure CMs and strategic suppliers are successful in meeting quality, delivery, cost and lead-time commitments.
    • Drive flexibility improvements and cycle time reduction programs with CM partners to increase responsiveness to demand changes.
    • Assist in conducting quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with management.
    • Manage engineering change (ECN) through change logs.

    Work Experience and Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in electrical/mechanical high-volume manufacturing sourcing environment
    • Experience dealing with international outsource partners/contract manufacturers.
    • Experience establishing and managing contracts and MSA's.
    • Experience with ISO auditing and QMS evaluation.
    • Computer literate with MS Office Suite – Excel wizardry is a core requirement.
    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
    • Experience with MRP/ERP systems – specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, contract negotiation and supply base management.
    • Program management and cross-functional teamwork experience.
    • Supply Chain and/or Logistics certification (SCMP, PMAC, CPIM, APICS) is considered an asset.

    Salary Range

    $82,000 to $87,000 CDN per year
