    Description
    This premier full-service hotel in Northwestern Ontario seeks an exceptional Banquet Manager to join their leadership team.

    This is a fast-paced environment with large-scale conferencing, banqueting and catering services and they need a strong leader with a passion for creating outstanding guest experiences and exceptional guest service within all functions in the banqueting department.

    The Banquet Manager is responsible for ongoing day-to-day leadership while ensuring the seamless execution of all Food & Beverage functions by executing all event details and providing overall service levels which exceed guests' expectations, including conference services, events and banquet functions.

    This includes coordinating all phases of meetings and social functions held at the hotel and the successful execution of events.

    This position is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the hotel Banquet department, ensuring the dining experience is exceptional and reflects the standards their guests have come to expect from them.

    Along with being in tune with current food and beverage trends, the role requires a leader who is passionate, and creative; and brings strong food and beverage presentation and service skills.

    This position requires exceptionally strong communication and a collaborative approach with all hotel leadership team members and departmental teams while sharing their own flare for style and design.

    The Banquet Manager takes the lead in the execution of all banquet functions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service function from set-up to breakdown.

    Oversee the day-to-day leadership of the Banquet Department;
    Responsible for ensuring all Banquet functions exceed customer expectations;
    Responsible for ensuring all hotel Banquet events are executed as per the Banquet Event Order and meet the client's needs, including adjusting service to meet last-minute requests;
    Drive a culture of performance and high engagement through recognition, training, and coaching;
    Develop, train, communicate and reinforce the service vision and standards to team members and coach them in supporting the successful execution of the vision;
    Consistently display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counseling team members as appropriate, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to managing a team;
    Responsible for ensuring weekly schedules are prepared to meet the needs of the operation and of all upcoming events, while still managing labour costs;
    Develop and implement operating standards for Banquet teams, including training programs and SOP's;
    Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to ensure the brand promise is delivered; Demonstrate a high level of commitment to processes that allow team members to provide service that is aligned with our vision of creating exceptional experiences;
    Liaise with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction;

    Perform other duties as assigned by management including but not limited to assisting team members with their roles during peak periods.

    2-3 years experience working as a Food & Beverage leader, preferably within a full-service hotel environment;
    ~ University or College diploma in Hospitality is a definite asset;
    ~ Brings a hands-on approach to training and a leadership style committed to developing and motivating the team to attain a superior level of guest service;
    ~ Proven experience leading a team in servicing large functions;
    ~ Experience working in a unionized environment is a definite asset;
    ~ Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, is essential;
    ~ Organized, results-orientated, proven time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
    ~ Proven experience motivating and inspiring a team to achieve strong performance results;
    ~ Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills;
    ~ Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required, including occasional Manager-On-Duty shifts;
