STELIA North America, an affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, is a recognized leader in the design, analysis, and development of advanced composite structures for the aeronautic, defense and space markets. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 180,000 sq feet of facilities that are focused on composite, metal or hybrid sub-assemblies for major aeronautical players and innovating global solutions.

The
Lay Up Operator is responsible for laying-up the highest quality parts to ensure on time production in a safe and efficient manner.

In this role, you will:

Layup composite parts to molds
Identify and handle time sensitive raw materials and consumables
Work with core and foams, potting joints, adhesive films and foaming adhesives
Vacuum bag parts in preparation for curing
Verify your own work for compliance with instructions and quality of work
Safely use box knives, scissors and other work aids
Maintain clean and safe work environment, identifying hazards and ensuring controls are in place to perform work safely at all times
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all data requirements as specified in STELIA North America procedures and work control documents
Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes
Complete all required documentation according to regulatory standards and policies and procedures

You have:

A High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of practical experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in a mechanical assembly or aeronautics environment
Knowledge and skill of layup techniques such as overlap and butt joints
The ability to Read and comprehend drawings, specifications and other technical documents
High attention to detail and a keen eye for quality
A proven track record of working safely
Manual dexterity and proficiency using hand tools
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs
