Description

The Insulation Services Manager Canada is responsible for the overall achievement of preferred customer service through highly effective order fulfillment and warehouse operations for our insulation plants in Canada.

This will be achieved through the development, implementation, and optimization of Canada Insulation warehousing practices and technology.

Responsible for planning & executing customer service schedule and SAP initiatives, the Services Manager will ensure continued improvement of customer service and order fulfillment for external and internal customers, while still supporting and promoting efficient utilization of distribution and warehousing assets and resources.

With strong analytical capabilities, the incumbent will streamline processes and drive for improvements to overall operations & efficiencies through good inventory management, superior shipping & receiving processes, and enhanced automation and technology.

The Services Manager is a key member of the plant management team and reports directly to the Ottawa Plant Manager.

The Insulation Services Manager Canada manages directly the Ottawa shipping hourly team and indirectly the other plants teams.


Customer Focus and Service

  • On an ongoing basis, proactively improves inventory, warehouse layout, and shipping/receiving processes to achieve higher levels of effectiveness, including ABCXYZ warehouse layout, STO transfer damage reduction, and last mile STO delivery performance, and evaluates the performance of improvements.
  • Interfaces and collaborates regularly with plant warehouse teams, the customer service team, and within the logistics and planning team to maintain and improve service and order fulfillment (customer and internal).
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of efficient service, shipping/receiving, and inventory management practices in all insulation Canadian locations.
  • Develops and record key relevant KPI's, reporting, and tracking tools to drive improvement, including past due STO reporting.
  • Builds and executes shipping/receiving & inventory control strategies to control operational costs and meet KPI targets and financial budgets.
  • Ensures SAP and streamline best practices are maintained at all plants through regular communication, training, and auditing.
  • Provides training and support to the plant warehouse teams, and 3rd party logistics partners
  • Supports the resolution of system or service issues at the plant warehouses and 3rd party logistics warehouse locations.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:


EHS

  • Leads the Shipping/receiving teams with highest respect of EHS charter and policies to achieve a zero accidents, zero occupational illnesses and zero environmental impact for our employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Promotes participation and collaboration of all employees seeking ideas and implementation of risk reductions.
  • Leads implementation of activities improving SG standard compliance.
  • Ensures process systems are in place to maintain all shipping/receiving equipment to meet benchmark targets and environmental standards.

Leadership, People development and Engagement

  • Sustains and keep developing the positive relationship with our Employees to promote an open and engaged culture.
  • Responsible for the development and proper training for all employees reporting directly and indirectly to the position in order to grow internally leaders.
  • Provides frequent and high quality communication to his team and other departments (performances, teams meetings, monthly individuals performances).
  • Works with employees to improves their working conditions and their engagement.
  • Acts as a role model and ensures that all employees are working following the Saint-Gobain principles or conduct and actions.
  • Develops and directs implementation of plant goals, objectives, policies and procedures, and work standards where applicable as required by the plant and Company.

WCM and operations excellence

  • Acts as a change agent to implement a WCM culture working with WCM coordinator and pillar leaders.
  • Participates actively in the WCM steering committee, the foundations (housekeeping, management of change, visual management) and pillars implementation.
  • Promotes and ensures the daily use of the WCM tools (HERCA, SFA, 5S) to drive continuous improvement of the operations.
  • Support transition to 4.0 plant through digitalization of tools for employees and data power for analysis.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting of progress in achieving the company's goals
  • Responsible for forklift fleet and shunting services
  • Responsible for finished good and packaging raw materials
  • Travel as required, with possibility to 75% of time working at sites
