As an IT Business Analyst with Emphasys Housing Finance Agency, you will help us transform our data into actionable insights to support growth-minded business decisions.

You will have experience within the IT or Software industry that has established a framework and knowledge base to demonstrate how our industry-leading products meet customer needs.

What you will focus on:


  • Build insights. You will collect and transform new and existing data to create a knowledge base of how Emphasys software products work and benefit our target audience. You will aggregate, digest and analyze internal business metrics, including financial, quality and productivity measures. You will conduct analysis to connect the dots, create a bigpicture view and generate actionable insights.
  • Be the voice of the customer. You will proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to understand the functionality and features they require from a business and practical perspective and champion those needs to the teams. You will design and deliver documentation, including Functional requirements, Business Requirements Documents, Use Cases, GUI, Screen, and Interface designs.
  • Collaborate. You will act as a liaison between the Product and Development teams translating customer/industry requirements into technical specifications and development tasks that meet the demand. You will effectively communicate meaningful datasupported insights to business leaders, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the finished product from a business point of view.
  • Stay updated on industry practices and company policies. You will maintain indepth knowledge of our solutions and services and federal, state, and local regulations related to HUD programs that could impact our products and clients. You will contribute ideas and provide feedback to enhance business operations, product development, and customer service.

What you bring:


  • Experience. You have a Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Technology field and familiarity with both business practices and software engineering. You enjoy working on bigpicture data transformation, framework building, customer needs analysis, and feature development planning. You have experience eliciting and writing technical requirements to guide the work of a software engineering team. You have experience balancing multiple concurrent projects and completing deliverables on time.
  • Technical expertise. You are proficient with MS Office, and you are comfortable working in SQL, and creating BI dashboards. You can design, deliver, and interpret diagrams and data models as well as documentation, including Process workflows, Functional requirements, Business Requirements Documents, Use Cases, GUI, Screen, and Interface designs. You believe in measurable quality and efficiency. You are metricsdriven, setting and tracking expectations and the progress of your projects.
  • Ownership. You work with a sense of urgency and hold yourself accountable for exceeding expectations and meeting deadlines. You continuously seek new information and learning opportunities, staying at the forefront of best practices in the industry.
  • Interpersonal skills. You have flexible and effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a nontechnical audience.
