Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Production is responsible for all aspects of a specific business unit within the Liquid Dose Production facility, including ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide results oriented leadership that drives continuous improvement consistent with the Operations Business Objectives
- Coordinate, assign and supervise all production activities and outcomes for area of responsibility to ensure production schedule/agreed upon goals and objectives are met
- Use systems and metrics to guide the initiation and execution of safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in support of the Operations Business Objectives
- Provide strong leadership to the team that fosters personal development, interaction and participation, including coaching and administration of the Apotex Compatibility Process where necessary
- Provide leadership as a member of the Production leadership team, building and maintaining positive relationships with the key business partners within and outside of Production
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all regulatory requirements (GMP, safety) and company policies. Initiate investigations and provide or implement preventive/corrective action for all safety and compliance nonconformances
- Responsible and accountable for supervising the team in accordance with Ontario _Occupation Health and Safety Act_, Apotex Inc Health and Safety policies and Safe Work procedures (SWPs)
- Evaluate the individual performance and contribution of all direct reports on an ongoing basis and establish developmental plans in conjunction with individuals where required. Ensure employees participate/receive all relevant training within required timeframes
- All other duties as assigned
- For all People Leader (anyone with a direct reports)
- Reviewing and updating development plans for all direct reports, ensuring that all direct reports are properly trained and qualified according to our Global Training and Employee Qualification Enterprise Policy
- Effectively managing performance for direct reports according to the Global Performance Management Program
- Scheduling regular oneonone meetings, probationary performance reviews and midyear performance discussions. Communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees
- Providing regular coaching, feedback and recognition based on the expected behaviors, job description and performance on objectives
- Responsible to ensure compliance of team members (direct reports) with the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, Global Quality procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies
- Delivers all work in support of our Values of Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion
Job Requirements:
- Education
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or related field
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership experience particularly in the areas of approachability, dealing with direct reports, managing diversity, setting goals and objectives and measuring performance
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and exposure to SAP or other ERPs
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, on rotating shifts
- Previous experience in the Food, Consumer Packaged Goods or Pharmaceutical industry an asset
- Proven experience in systematic problem solving
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

- Three to five years supervisory experience preferred
