We are actively recruiting for the role Specialist, New Ventures & Energy Transition reporting to the Senior Specialist of New Ventures & Energy Transition.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and support a comprehensive energy transition strategy and implementation plan to decarbonize existing assets;
  • Support decarbonization planning including economic modeling and emission reduction impacts for low carbon investments across NorthRiver's operations;
  • Support the evaluation and development of a range of commercial emerging low carbon technologies including electrification, Carbon Capture, Storage and Utilization (CCUS), optimization and hydrogen generation and use projects;
  • Support the development and reporting of ESG related materials to internal and external parties;
  • Engage Stakeholders and conduct research and analysis as part of environmental risk and opportunity analysis;
  • Support commercial team to develop and discover new venture opportunities in the emerging energy/energy transition space;
  • Provide input and support on project development and commercial operations leveraging experience in the NEBC/Montney and specifically knowledge of NEBC/Montney producers and area infrastructure;
  • Provide support on developing integrated energy infrastructure proposal and negotiating commercial terms including papering LOIs, MOUs and letter agreements;
  • Support Commercial and New Venture teams in the preparation of decision support documents;

Qualifications:


  • Minimum five (5) years of analytical experience in natural resources based industry (preferrentially oil & gas) with specific prior experience in developing and maintaining evaluation models used by decision makers and overall 8 to 10 years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering
  • Knowledgeable of emerging energy trends and carbon markets
  • Knowledge of geoSCOUT and ValNav with considerable knowledge of NEBC/Montney producers, infrastructure and commercial arrangements is an asset
  • Experience in the preparation of presentations and decision support packages for energy infrastructure projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems and develop process that leverage technology and people
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations with willingness and ability to be customer facing and act as key liaison with customers and key industry contacts
