We are looking for a Drafting CADD Technician to join our dynamic team

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

  • Preparation of plans for utility permit and construction purposes using MicroStation CAD software.
  • Plotting of designs in eGIS and update records in Maximo.
  • Verify and check as-in built drawings and field notes that will be used in drafting and eGIS.
  • Provide mark-ups for third-party design proposals.
  • Review and validate designs for utility issues and compliance to Municipal Consent requirements.
  • Preparation of various consultant plans including civil, hydro, and survey.
  • Complete additional tasks as needed such as submitting permit requests and preparing 'out to construction' packages for Enbridge projects.

Who You Are (Qualifications):
You will have the following combination of education and experience:

  • Post-secondary, college diploma in a CAD related technical stream which may include engineering or geographic information systems (GIS) education OR a related technical field.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience using MicroStation or other CAD software.
  • Ability to read mechanical, civil, survey, and hydro plans and complete mark-ups of external utility drawings.
  • Ability to interpret company asset records, such as Field Notes, Missy Tickets, As-laids, GIS plots and schematics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, under pressure, have good reasoning, meet required timelines and have high attention to details.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

The following would be an asset:

  • Experience in geo mapping systems.
  • Experience as a Pipeline Inspector.
