The Opportunity:

This position assists with analysis, maintenance and manipulation of data required to maintain the College's financial processes and to assist the Financial Services Department in the completion of required reporting responsibilities.

The incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate processing, recording, and reconciling of Travel Advances, Travel Expense and Visa Expense claims.

The incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of cheque requisition requests for Employment Solutions as well as student Bursaries and Awards.

In addition, the incumbent is responsible for updating monthly Bursary Fund balance reports and Fixed Assets spreadsheets. The incumbent provides backup for Wire Payment processing role during staff absences. The incumbent is responsible for reconciliations and supporting working papers for semester and year end reporting.


What you need to be successful:

  • two-year College diploma or University Degree in An Accounting Program
- the incumbent is required to have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • People Soft working knowledge is an asset
- minimum three years demonstrated accounting experience analyzing financial data, preparing working papers, and entering transactions into the general ledger
- includes experience in an accounting setting and account analysis
- excellent organizational, record-keeping, and data entry skills
- working knowledge of accounting practices, ability to perform financial accounting and general ledger account analysis to identify account problems and undertake corrective action
- excellent working knowledge of computerized financial systems
- exceptional attention to detail
- strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

This is a full-time support staff vacancy, Payband F - $28.56-$33.11 (starting rate $28.56), 35 hours/week.
