Charge Personal Care Worker - Bedford, Canada - The Berkeley Retirement Residences
Description
Responsibilities:
- Medication administration
- Provide personal care to residents such as: bathing, dressing, aid in ambulation, etc.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, assisting with meals, cleaning of the dining room after each meal, as well as the general tidying of resident rooms on a daily basis.
- Provide companionship to residents
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Continuing Care Assistant and the ability to perform the physical duties of a CCA
- Experience with Dementia care
- Supervisory experience
- First Aid and CPR certificates
- Ability to relate to elderly persons, showing courtesy, compassion and understanding
- Shifts vary must be flexible and reliable; evening and overnight
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
