Quality Control Technician

Reports to:
Quality Assurance Manager.


The Quality Control Technician works with the Quality Department to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications.

This individual will be responsible for assisting with the company's quality control polices and working to provide recommendations and suggestions when necessary.

The technician directs the establishment of performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well a identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the company's operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform final Inspection of the range of product.
  • Inspect incoming parts by using measuring devices (Callipers, gauges, and templates) and visual inspection based on inspection criteria.
  • Lead root cause evaluations and propose corrective actions for quality issues found during final inspection or inprocess and customer/warranty complaints.
  • Generate Non-Conforming reports for issue related to vendors/supplier.
  • Manage the disposition of nonconforming products like Quarantine or Rework.
  • Lead the product sorting and/or rework as directed.
  • Record results, data entry using excel and administration.
  • Develop and modify inspection criteria for incoming parts and quality control criteria in production & work instructions.
  • Train operators on quality control criteria and ensure enforcement of ergoCentric procedures and policies.
  • Work on quality related projects and perform other quality related duties as assigned.
  • Use power tools for light assembly and rework the final products if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years QC/QA experience within manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Technical/Engineering/Quality Assurance College Education is considered an asset.
  • ISO 9001 auditor training or experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multitask and change priorities quickly under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, selfmotivated with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to stay informed and up to date with changes in technology, code and workplace compliance
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 lbs.
