As a Sourcing Manager supporting our Procurement Team, you will be responsible to work on strategy for the category of Professional Services and Consulting.

The position will be required to run RFP projects and create strategic PowerPoints that will enable Alcon to realize value in these categories.

You will be trusted to define and adapt a regional sourcing strategy for secondary category alignment with business stakeholders across corresponding Alcon business units in Mississauga, Canada.


In this role, a typical day will include:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects, employ sourcing strategies, and deliver a sourcing and procurement process which is integrated with all relevant business owners
  • Optimize the selection of suppliers, negotiated pricing and total cost of ownership.
  • Drive cost savings synergies across departments and business franchises
  • Identify and implement best practices for area responsibility
  • Build strong internal and external procurement and management relationships
  • Ensure site compliance to global procurement policies, legal policies, financial controls, quality directives and relevant SOPs
  • Purse continuous improvement and risk reduction opportunities
  • Directly influence Cash Flow, DPO, Savings, Cost Avoidance, and other key efficiency metrics/KPI's
  • Support Transactional Buying Activities and maintenance of ERP system data
  • Support Financial, Legal, and regulatory requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum Experience:
3-5 years relevant experience with 3 years demonstrated leadership-

Preferred Experience: 7+ years of Procurement and leadership experience, solid experience leading and developing teams within a matrix organization and across geographies and cultures.- Solid experience in change and category management.
