What can I expect to do in this role?: In this position, you will:

Lead the examination and analysis of complex planning proposals (e.g., planning justification reports) and recommendations, prepares recommended modifications and decisions
Identify problems/concerns with existing programs or legislation and recommending changes or improvements in program structure/delivery
Prepare, present, lead and participate in meetings, seminars, workshops and educational sessions on matters
Provide guidance and advice over municipal planning processes and the development of municipal official plans and zoning bylaws

How do I qualify?:

Mandatory:
You require a requires a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license to drive to municipal meetings, seminars, conferences.

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

You have land use planning experience with demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario planning system, related legislation, policies, and Ontario government priorities, policy development and decisionmaking processes.
You have proven leadership, organization and project management skills to participate in and/or lead multidisciplinary teams and multiple projects.

Research and Analytical Skills:

You have demonstrated research skills to undertake complex studies; analyze information and develop models related to a range of planning activities, such as environmental, land use and social planning matters.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

You have experience performing analyses and preparing reports using word processing, data management and spreadsheet software.
