    The Opportunity

    We're searching for a talented Backend Developer to own the development and implementation of key features for our debut productivity app. As a Backend Developer, you'll collaborate closely with the frontend team, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate to kickstart their career at the heart of a growing startup.

    Compensation: (CAD) $ $26.00

    Hours: 8-24 hours / week (depends on your availability)

    What You'll Do

    • Bring ideas to reality: Design and build backend systems and APIs that power our app's core features using Python and FastAPI.
    • Deploy with confidence: Manage AWS infrastructure (ECS, load balancers, automated deployments) to ensure scalability and performance.
    • Embrace collaboration: Work closely with the frontend team to coordinate feature development and create a seamless user experience.
    • Optimize the data flow: Integrate MongoDB and potentially sequential databases to support diverse feature requirements.

    We're Looking for Someone Who

    • Has a strong foundation in Python and FastAPI: You're comfortable building RESTful APIs and have a solid grasp of web development concepts.
    • Knows their way around AWS: You have hands-on experience with ECS, load balancers, and automated deployment pipelines.
    • Understands Docker: Containerization is second nature to you.
    • Is comfortable with databases: You have experience with MongoDB and familiarity with sequential databases.
    • Is a strong communicator: You can effectively collaborate with frontend developers and translate technical concepts.
