    Description

    Position FULL TIME OFFICE CLERK

    Department ADMINISTRATION

    Location Administration Office with Travel to Branches

    Responsibilities
    1. To provide customer service to internal and external customers.
    2. To be dependable for all shifts and to come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
    3. To assist, complete, and reconcile daily cash-ups as required.
    4. To record the receipts of goods in RCBK and to have knowledge of Mi-9, Tronia and other POS systems used in Southland.
    5. To maintain the customer and vendor master files (VMF).
    6. To assist Accountant and controller with inventory audits.
    7. To administer end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year procedures.
    8. To record journal entries to reconcile inventory accounts.
    9. To make bank deposits as required.
    10. To assist Accountant and Controller with the maintenance and disposal of records according to CRA record retention policies
    11. To operate the point-of-sale terminal as required.
    12. To assist Finance Manager/Controller with the maintenance of Southland's rolling stock
    13. To be familiar with and adhere to Southland Co-op policies and procedures.
    14. To adhere to company loss prevention, security, and safety policies and procedures.
    15. All duties above will primarily be in support of Home Centre and Agro Centre locations.
    16. Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

  • Experience in retail and inventory management.
  • Knowledge in agro, hardware and lumber products is an asset.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.
  • A pleasant and out-going personality.
  • A desire and ability to work with the public.
  • Physically able to do heavy lifting, climbing & kneeling.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a computerized office environment.
  • Office or Business Admin certificate or equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reports to Finance Manager/Controller
