    Description

    The Human Resources Business Partner/ HR Specialist works closely with UVI leaders to provide a proactive approach in meeting department business needs as well as University-wide goals initiatives.

    Consultation and content areas include, but are not limited to, benefits, classification and compensation, employee relations, organizational development, professional development, performance management, and recruitment and selection.

    Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration or a related field and three years of related experience OR seven (7) progressively responsible experience in a combination of two or more human resources specialty areas (ex.

    employee relations, recruitment, etc.). HR certification (e.g., Knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to HR programs and processes. Skill in the use of Banner or similar HR information systems. Skill in the use of standard business software packages such a Microsoft office products. Skill in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and establishing priorities. Excellent organizational and training skills. Experience with PeopleAdmin or similar applicant tracking system. Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds data entry; To operate office machines; Position Type Full Time

    Human Resources Office is seeking candidates for three full time, HR Business Partner positions

    • Human Resources Business Partner will work closely with UVI supervisors and managers to provide a proactive approach in meeting department business needs as well as University-wide goals initiatives.
    • Confidentiality:

    HR is a highly confidential unit, and the Human Resources Business Partner must maintain and preserve the integrity of the office.


    • Contracts:
    Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for the timely processing of all contracts with accuracy.

    • Benefits, Retirement &

    Tuition Remission:

    Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for processing employees' benefits and communicating the University's benefits to staff, faculty, and its stakeholders.

    Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for conducting the separation process for employees who are exiting the University and process all unemployment claims with accurate information.


    • Recruitment & Onboarding:

    Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for processing vacancy notices, conducting background checks, processing new employees' paperwork and verification of employment.

    Process employees in the system to gain network access timely and explain the benefits options to all new employees.

    • Employee Evaluation, Training & Development: Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support for Human Resources Information Systems ( HIRS ) and deliver training when required. Assist with Career Development initiatives, Performance Evaluations and Development Plans for all employees.
    • Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for providing guidance on HR policies and procedures and conduct investigations when the requirement develops.
    • Payroll Support:

    Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for providing support with payroll processes and managing leave policies and processes.
