IT Requisitions Consultant:

Primary Purpose:

The IT Requisitions Consultant is responsible for recommending appropriate Information Technology solutions to University of Saskatchewan staff and faculty to support the maintenance and development of a world-class IT environment that promotes research, teaching and learning.


Nature of Work:

Reporting to the IT Requisitions Coordinating Lead, this position works in a very fast paced and interrupt driven environment on complex proposals and projects and must work under pressure to meet varying client expectations.

This position requires a high level of customer service and relationship building skills as well exceptional attention to detail.


Typical Duties or Accountabilities:


  • Analyzing client needs and recommending appropriate information technology solutions to faculty and staff.
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Researching the capabilities of new technologies.
  • Disseminating information to the campus on hardware and software products available from the group.
  • Working closely with IT Requisitions lead and Procurement to ensure purchasing guidelines are defined and implemented.
  • Accurately maintaining the AV services projects database;
  • Updating the Usask Wiki/Knowledge Base
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:


2-3 years of experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment with proven ability to build strong relationships in a consulting or advising role.

Comprehensive knowledge of all types of computers and server hardware, professional quality audio visual hardware and accompanying computer and A/V software solutions.

Working knowledge of IT Requisitions CCS software platform is an asset.


Skills:

demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including the proven ability to determine clients' needs, communicate solutions, answer client questions, create product information material and respond to requests; the ability to organize tasks with mínimal supervision in an interrupt-driven work environment; and a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Experience with business analysis, inventory management, and inventory forecasting would also be an asset.
