Opportunity:


The School of Continuing Education is seeking two (2) highly skilled student worker to join their team on a casual basis.

Reporting to the Program Director, the student worker works with faculty, staff, and students in supporting various administrative tasks and providing assistance to staff members within the department.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a professional work environment while balancing their academic commitments.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing program specific information regarding requirements, electives, procedures, timelines, and general program facts for designated portfolio.
  • Dealing directly with students inperson.
  • Referring students to the Program Managers or Senior Program Manager for specific questions or concerns relating to programs or the instructors.
  • Registering new and returning students for courses and collecting fee payment using PeopleSoft.
  • Supporting staff members with various tasks as assigned, including research, scheduling, and preparing materials for events, classes, and other projects.
  • Assisting in organizing and executing events and activities, including setting up rooms, preparing materials, booking reservations, providing logístical support, and etc.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor/s to support the department.

  • The ability to complete tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • The ability to manage and meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A current student completing a certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree. (MacEwan student preferred)
  • A student with second language skills.
  • Be an outwardfacing representative of our programs, fostering positive relationships with staff, students and, and stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically diverse population.
  • Cross cultural experience from student activities, work, volunteering, or study abroad would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Occasional day trips may be required, primarily within Edmonton to specific locations.
