As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families


Your services may include:

psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience in an Oncology setting. Current BLS, Health Care provider Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume outpatient clinic and treatment setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High degree of competency working with patients who are experiencing emotional distress and life-threatening illness, grief and loss. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures using a supportive, non-judgmental approach. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of social work in a medical / hospital setting (acute/ambulatory/community care) is preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to be flexible and adaptable with work environment (i.e., workplace noise, sharing office space). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a complex and busy case load. Crisis intervention skills would be considered an asset.
