RCC is looking for a
Director, Sponsorship based in Toronto (GTA) reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships and Education.

***The position's primary responsibility is to lead and direct RCC's partnership efforts, including sponsorship and advertising, through strategic leadership to maintain and increase revenue generation and to grow and retain non-retail members. Ensuring effective departmental business plans are developed and executed, and that respective teams are supported to provide valuable products and services to RCC members while supporting RCC's overall strategic plan.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sponsorship and Advertising - 50%

  • Develop and fulfill a yearly sales cycle for both sponsorship and advertising activities within the organization.
  • Create high quality documents to support selling efforts that easily demonstrate options and benefits to potential sponsors and advertisers.
  • Determine sponsorship levels and benefits for strategic partners and sponsors.
  • Develop prospect processes for all sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
  • Oversee the handling of sponsor recognition, relations, and correspondence.
  • Oversee account management of all sponsors to fulfill each sponsor contract.
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and work with the Vice President, Partnerships and Education to liaise with other RCC departments to ensure alignment.
  • Demonstrate value to each sponsor and advertiser post commitment.
  • Ensure core objectives and projects are being achieved, measured, and evaluated.
  • Secure inkind sponsorships/media partners for operational needs.

Administration - 20%

  • Oversee and lead the development of annual budgets, business plans and reports, which outline the objectives of the department and ensure the department's efficient operation reflecting member needs and RCC's strategic plan.
  • Communicate with Finance regarding invoicing and receipt of payment and proper maintenance of financial records.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of departmental reports and financial documents for RCC's Board of Directors and RCC's executive team.

Member Renewals and Engagement - 15%

  • Working closely with the VP, Marketing and Member Services, to develop and execute strategies to grow and retain nonretail members.
  • Engage all potential new sponsors and advertisers in membership.
  • Send membership renewal reminders and process membership for the supplier community.

Team Leadership - 15%

  • Supervise team, including daytoday monitoring of workload, completion of projects, objectives/deadlines are met, work is accurate, and other activity, as required.
  • Manage staff development and succession planning with regular performance evaluations and conduct review processes.
  • Provide coaching, advice, and direction to RCC team members not directly under supervision.

Other

  • Provide input and recommendations to improve daytoday operations within Member Services, as well as provide feedback to other departments.
  • Other general administration duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business/Commerce, Association Management, Marketing/Communications, or equivalent.


Experience

  • 710 years of experience in association management focusing on sales, business development, communications, or marketing.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to work independently on projects as well as collaboratively with team members.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle complaints in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to travel to coordinate and attend sponsorship development meetings and events.
  • Excellent project management skills and be capable of producing a high volume of quality work within tight timelines.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Proven creative thinking and problemsolving ability.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point required.
  • Demonstrated innovation and creativity in the form of continuous improvement to internal processes.
  • Flexibility to work long hours as evening and weekend work is required during peak times.

Assets

  • Experience using contact management databases.
  • Working knowledge of graphic designs and image formats ,.eps,.ai).
  • Successful track record of building and leading a team.
  • Sales, negotiation, and telemarketing exp
