Machine Operator - Coater - PTFE

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited, to the following duties outlined below: _
  • Study the Product Run Log Sheet to identify all the production specifications
  • Safely operate start up & shut down of the machine, visually verify the settings to ensure constant speed and smooth running of the machine
  • Ensure that the Adhesive Coating machine is cleaned, oiled, lubricated and greased as per schedule
  • Consult manufacturer's manuals such as internal SOP (product setup forms) and blueprints to manufacture specific product requirements
  • Measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, tension, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing and processing using tools like temperature controller
  • Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults by using micrometers and pressure relief instruments
  • Using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices like feeler gauges, micrometers and precision measuring instruments to measure and maintain the thickness of material
  • Repair and adjust system components, such as adjusting break tensions, speed control and remove defective parts daily
  • Perform scheduled biweekly preventive maintenance of oven, furnace, and complete test and maintenance reports
  • Consult with and advise process operators such as chemical mixing operators and quality analysis personnel for compliance based on setup parameters
  • Conduct shear test using shear testers
  • Troubleshoot any creases, fold over or streak lines on material by correcting defects through adjusting speed and tension
  • Immediately alert the maintenance team if any defect is observed or any anomaly is noticed on the machine
  • Use forklift & industrial overhead crane to load the appropriate fabric roll on the machine
  • Select the appropriate chemicals according to the specification sheet, make sure to collect the proper chemical drums from the designated storage area
  • Respect the procedure for premixing, safely mix the chemicals in the mixing room with the mixing machine, ensure that adequate quantity of adhesive is mixed and catalyzed prior to production run
  • Use the manual stacker to load the drums and move them closer to the coating machine
  • Make sure the liquid adhesive receptacle tray is clean, use specific solvent solution to clean tray
  • Use the monitoring panel to measure temperatures, speed, air, and tension on the machine
  • Fill the traceability documents and make sure all production tracking data are logged on the paper sheet
  • Take the finished roll out of the machine, by using the forklift or the crane
  • Use the forklift to place the roll in the designated storage racks & label the roll properly
  • Respect the procedure for quality tests, take samples for testing, cooperate with QA team

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:


  • Prior mechanical experience (machine operation, assembly, installation, etc.)
  • Prior manufacturing experience 2+ years optimal
  • High school Diploma, GED, Technical/Trade School or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English
  • Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales)
  • Forklift certification would be an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. & ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Computer Proficiency experience with data entry
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Must be able to work for any employer in Canada

Salary & Conditions:


  • Job location: Green Belting Industries, 381 Ambassador Drive, Mississauga, ON
  • Salary: from 20 $ per hour to 21 $ per hour depending on profile and experience
  • Days of work: Monday to Friday
  • Permanent Fulltime position, 40 hours per week
  • Shift Timing: Afternoon shift (2.30 pm 11 pm)
