How to be an Alpha Wolf: Lynda's Now Doing Twitter Right (end week 2)

28 day summary

Okay, so the title here is a bit of a misnomer. It should really read "Lynda's Now Doing Twitter Right (end week 2 and 2 days)" but that just sounds weird.

So "end week 2" it is.

To those of you arriving late to the party, Lynda Spiegel and I decided to conduct an experiment. Lynda wasn't seeing much value in Twitter. I saw tons. I saw so much value that I put a team together to build a TMS (Twitter Management System, us techies love our acronyms, even just us techie writers).

Lynda agreed to let me take over her account for a while.

These posts are a diary of the results of applying myTweetPack.com to Lynda's Twitter account.

myTweetPack.com is expected to be available for free trials on January 5th, next. Right now, it's just an under-construction image.

I need to come clean about something.

I'm not doing all that much.

I'm not Lynda. I don't know what she wants to Tweet or Retweet. Really, she isn't getting the full value from the system.

Still, she isn't doing too badly, especially considering that I only spend about 3-5 minutes a day on her account.

Sorry, Lynda, I have a website and public Web App to get operational. Besides, do we really need to spend hours on this stuff?

I say, "Oh, Hell No!"

This was Lynda's account two weeks and two days ago.

Not too shabby at all.

Remember that these numbers are for a rolling 28-day period. We've only been at this for two weeks and two days.

That's a grand total of about 64 minutes of my time.

No, not too shabby at all.

Still, it could have been better

If Lynda was adding stuff herself, these numbers would be much better. It only takes a few seconds to grab a Share-to-Twitter and schedule it out.

Social media is -- well -- social. Those shares generate engagement.

Hummm, maybe it's time to schedule another call with Lynda?

Let's wait until after the Holidays.

myTweetPack.com is a crowd-built web app based on the suggestions of over 600 people on beBee and about 200 on LinkedIn.

It will soon be available for Free Trials.

No, it can't subscribe you to lists. List are better used the other way. It will be in the strategy videos once I can get to them. From the Dashboard, go to Growth strategy, then Work from lists from the advanced tab. Click on Collect Members and Subscribers from a User's Lists. mashable, USAtoday, Huffpost, HuffPostBiz, niume_offical, marshallk, and goodmenproject all have great and varied lists. Pick a few, add members and subscribers to your potential follows. Also, when you scan new follows to see if you want to follow back, jot down any who are on a lot of lists AND who you want to follow back. Do the same with them

Good stuff! I just checked mine and I'm going back up again since you Fixed "Auntie Lisa." haha. 209K tweet impressions (down since my app was down) 5080 Profile visits (up) Lynda has more than doubled her followers in a little over 2 wks, awesome! Great App Paul \ PS: My husband has interest in this too, he's building a new website.

Thanks, Larry. I forgot how stressful start-ups can be. I guess start-ups are like childbirth. You forget how much of a pain it is after it's done. I opened my big mouth and said January 5th, now I'm fighting for server provisioning, my How-To videos aren't finished yet, and I haven't even started on the Strategy videos. My staff is off for the holidays and my wife is looking at me with "that look." Oh, and I have 32 people coming over for New Year's Eve! LOL, I think they will be fitting me for a straight jacket soon.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean you should wait until Thursday to do that, just delay the start time to whatever day and time you want

Right now, you can schedule by date of month, ex: the 5th, 9th, 12th etc. It shouldn't be tough to schedule based on day of week, although I haven't looked into it. It will have to wait until V2.0 though. In the meantime, You could do one of two things. 1 - every month schedule tweets for th edate that is a Thursday (ex) or 2 - Schedule by minute interval, using an interval of 10080 minutes (number of minutes in a week) Do it on Thursday at 13:00 and it will tweet every Thursday at 13:00

I'm working on a series of videos outlining my thoughts on optimum strategy. I still need to add on more on targeting your following to the Getting Set Up Playlist. The early strategy videos will be very general, then the kick-ass stuff will need myTweetPack, or something similar (is there anything similar?)
