Buzz : Five Ways to Improve Your Imagination

Image is centered in the past, imagine is centered in the future but imagination is what links both and also a powerful force of being in our individual present or who we are right now.  There are other universals other than imagination and here we may talk of freedom or happiness or truth - but all of these universals do not often fully express themselves in our being.  What Harley buzzed about was touch on some of the catalysts that can energize our imagination.

Imagination is not positive thinking.  Positive thinking is not a universal, it is a deliberate intention and attention on trying to move the odds of success in our favour.  This focus on success as a manipulation of our thinking finds its roots in prior centuries, whereas imagination is beginning to find its roots in the 21st Century among other universals like holistic thinking.  Positive thinking is not holistic thinking, it actually fears our own imagination and guards against it, rather than opening our heart and minds to all that imagination can be.

Image is one of my pet peeves online because so many great thinkers in the history of humanity have warned against the enslavement in image.  Image found its apex in the 20th Century with the birth public relations and means of propaganda led by people like Edward Bernays. When the Nazi's saw the value of propaganda via Joseph Goebbels, the word propaganda fell out of favour.  Image also accompanies visual media developed through the rise of television and television is not a 21st Century construct.  The broadcast mindset has spread but image remains in the hands of the elites.  21st Century technologies have been adapted to 20th Century mindsets from which ideas like Personal Branding for the masses has developed.  It is ironic that a comedian like Russell Brand talks about Spirituality as an antidote to branded existence and he rails against image.  Image is a pyramid scheme where getting one's image to the top of the hierarchy is the name of the game, it is the continuation of the dog-eat-dog society.
