Physical Intelligence - Day 11

Physical Intelligence - Day 11

Day 11 Physical

IntelligenceOne drawback from reading the associated log from last year is that it reminded me of things that actually defeat the purpose of physical intelligence, and today it was reading how I had found the sandwich maker and begun using it (NOT GOOD).  Ironically, once the last 90 days passed last year, I never used that sandwich maker again.  Yet having read about it, I am more aware that we have it and more likely to use it again.

If that is not all along the road of unnecessary nutrition, I found the family have purchased a huge big box of oatmeal cookies called "DAD's".  I did not need any justification in diving into them, after all they do say the word "DAD" on them, so there must be some divine or greater higher power reason that these cookies have been bought into our home.  Whether it is the sandwich maker or the new Cookies - this is how fragile temptation is when one is lukewarm about an activity that is being followed, but with the enthusiasm of a snail to crawl faster.

One thing on the technological end that has become clear (which could have been fixed up last year but wasn't) is the relationship of the gym room with audio-visual equipment.  On the weekend we are going to experiment with an app that attaches an I-Pad to the treadmill, which allows one to run down visual trails.  It is called Virtual Runner and is available on the Apple Store, but there are also virtual running video's on You-Tube

I was on course to catch up with my brother at one point when I reached 215lbs and he was 220lbs. Since then I have started to take the trip to shed the excess and he has put on a lot of poundage - to the extent that at one point I did reach 195lb and he ballooned to 250lb. It surprising how short a time frame a 5lb differential can become a 50lb differential. At my age, that accelerates risk factors and it is different proposition compared to people 15 years or more younger than me. I began to lower my metabolism in my 40's. It is a long shot from my 20's when I was a skinny but highly metabolic 165lbs. At 215lb I am officially obese based on official measures of obesity. It is a different story if that weight was muscle - but when it is fat, I can recall how it drains energy and literally weighed me down. A healthy weight for me would be 185lbs - and that would be a nice point to reach at the expiration of the 90 days.

Day 1 After-workout Weight = 206.0 lb Day 11 After-workout weight = 201.7lb After the gym session today, my first thought was not that I had lost a few pounds, it was "where is that sandwich maker?"
