Physical Intelligence Day 3

As I look back to this time last year I began to see the value of reading while on the treadmill and tonight, as it has been the case for the last couple of days I am finishing reading "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz

What I found most ironic is that a family relative of ours who is on the mend after surgery on this spine, decided that outdoor walking would be a good idea compared to the monotony of the treadmill. He ended up tripping on a slightly raised pavement, and did not get up for 40 seconds because he feared that it might have affected his spine surgery. Fortunately it did not. In England it was easier for me to access an athletics track because a very good one was in walking distance of our home, but I must drive in order to get to a track where I live now. I agree with your observations of starting slow, though just starting is a really major step in itself. Last night I learned that a late start is not a good idea yet this morning I bypassed the morning hours and shortly I will begin again, hopefully before lunch.

As we grow older that is a part of growth when we realize the limitations of overt control. The ancillary part of aging is that there are physical effects that may not have been a part of our younger years. I simply assumed that my high metabolism was a part of who I am. Not so, now not exercising immediately begins to take a physical effect. Even after just a few days those physical reversal effects are things I am noticing - and these effects are age-physicality related. The pearls of ancient wisdom which is what Don Miguel Ruiz brings with The Four Agreements is a bonus to the physical realities that do arrive with the aging process. It is too late to turn the clock back on my habits from a younger age, Once I add in the logging aspect of this physical learning and action, that is 10 additional hours that I must draw from the opportunity hours we are afforded each week. With age and time they become practical factors - but these practical factors are supported by spiritual resolve and understanding.
