I notoriously waste the summer months and end up in deepest winter thinking ahead how I am going to "do summer differently".  That we have already reached the longest day of the year simply shows how fast time moves.  I am not a snow guy and I don't participate in snow sports, or at least the idea of going to the top of something and then throwing yourself with our feet strapped down on a pair of long planks, is not an inviting proposition for me and my first attempt at skiing was a debacle and absolute failure.  There is nothing worse than not even mastering the line pull on a training hill, and immediately tumbling into a heap crossed legged and stuck, and then have a five year old come across asking if I need help.  I was not meant for snow living or snow anything.

Each summer will only see me get older and older and again this summer I am yet again profligate in my failure to make the most of summer days.  Most of that failure is about not really taking much interest in local activities, preferring home based activities.  So the first step here is just simply taking a look at what can be done locally that I did not know could be done locally.  One of these things that surprised me was is this activity called "Edge Walk" which apparently is offered at the CN Tower, though I am not sure right now if they still offer it, or runs it.  On the one hand the way these people are strapped makes it look absolutely safe, but that will not make a difference because it feels quite testing to look over that edge, especially if vertigo has been problem in the past.

Making things look cool does not necessarily mean that I will find them cool.  The opening shot of Travel Ontario features two kids in front of what appears to be a frozen lake. All I can feel from seeing this opening picture, is a sense of my fingers going numb as I remember them being on Canada's coldest days and it removes me one step more from the summers I have never planned out, instead choosing home life over social life or environmental connection.

I have now July, August and September to rectify the passing of May and June.  A part of that passing has been focus on this log of physical intelligence.  Quite ironic that I will bypass local intelligence that is physically relevant and I am more concerned about quickly getting through the next 9 days and to complete the 90 Day Challenge I set out over 80 days ago.  When it comes to going out I remain socially challenged.   When I go out, the reality is that where I go to is stil INSIDE.  So trips to movies means forsaking the day by going into a dark place like a cinema. I could understand the sense in choosing to watch a movie on a rainy day, but the habit that has formed over the last six year stretch, is not a well-developed habit and so far lacks intention on my own part.

Driving does not count in this lifestyle change choice - it is to actually get out of the car and engage in nature.  I know that once I actually start paying attention to local news, events and programs, I will know how much travel options I have so far chosen to squander.  I read somewhere that a part of depth of intelligence can be factored by those who travel widely vs. those who never venture out that much, well, at least in physical action rather than as verbal. It is physically intelligent to move, so it is - then any kind of way that we can generate movement is a good thing as far as developing physical intelligence goes.
